Sustainability has always been central to Cold Powers’ philosophy. For over fifty years, we have helped Australian & New Zealand families make a positive difference with every cold-water wash load, saving up to 80% of energy consumption1 each cycle with uncompromising results.
From our commitment to saving energy by empowering consumers to wash in cold water with great results, to our recyclable packaging, we are committed to continuing to do more with less. Reducing waste and getting the most out of our materials are both central to Cold Power’s ongoing sustainability journey, and something we’re always looking to improve on.
Over the past few years, our efforts in this space have continued to go from strength to strength. We’ve worked to ensure our liquid formulations are grey water and septic safe. Our formulations contain readily biodegradable surfactants and enzymes, and are free from added phosphates and micro-plastics. In 2021, our focus turned to our packaging, which saw the removal of plastic scoops from all powder detergents, an easy-to-remove paper sleeve on capsule products, and implementation of the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) to facilitate cleaner recycling streams for all packaging.
In 2022, we are building on this momentum by taking sustainable packaging to the next level. From May, we will remove plastic spouts from all our 1L, 2L and 4L bottles. We’re also creating our 1L, 2L and 4L bottles with 50% locally sourced recycled plastic. In doing so, we will reduce virgin plastic use by over 393 tonnes2 every year - a considerable impact on the environment.
Cold Power. Together for a cleaner world.
